Renal disease cause of Noynoy Aquino's death, Family Confirms

by

The Aquino family says former president Noynoy Aquino died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday morning

The sisters of former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III officially confirmed the passing of their brother on Thursday afternoon, June 24.

In a statement read by Pinky Aquino-Abellada, the family revealed that Noynoy’s cause of death was renal disease secondary to diabetes.

She said the former chief executive died peacefully in his sleep at 6:30 am on Thursday.

Facing members of the media, the family expressed gratitude to the former president’s supporters.

"Mission accomplished, Noy, be happy now with Dad and Mom," Pinky said.

Noynoy, the son of democracy icons former president Cory Aquino and former senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., first entered politics as a House representative for the 2nd district of Tarlac in 1998.

He won a Senate seat in 2007, and was catapulted to the presidency in 2010.

News of Aquino’s death first broke around 9 am on Thursday.

Former Mayor Sanchez not eligible for release

by
Former Mayor Sanchez not eligible for release

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has allayed fears that former Calauan, Laguna Mayor Antonio Sanchez will be released through the good conduct time allowance (GCTA) system.

According to Guevarra, inmates convicted of heinous crimes, like Sanchez, are not entitled to benefit from the law cutting short the prison terms of inmates who have shown good behavior while serving their sentences.

" Eligibility under the 2013 law on expanded GCTA defines who are covered and said that among those who cannot benefit from that law are certain persons, such as recidivists, habitual delinquents, and persons charged of heinous crimes. That is a process of elimination," Guevarra explained.

Former Mayor Sanchez not eligible for release

Sanchez was sentenced to seven counts of reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment by the Pasig Regional Trial Court in 1995 for the rape-slay of University of the Philippine (UP) Los BaƱos student Eileen Sarmenta and the murder of her boyfriend, Allan Gomez in 1993.

Four years later, the Supreme Court upheld the lower court's ruling against Sanchez.

While there is no existing definition of heinous crimes following the suspension of the Heinous Crimes Act (RA 7659), the term appeared in the expanded GCTA so Guevarra instructed Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon to thoroughly review cases for high profile or heinous crimes.

Aside from being guilty of heinous crimes, Sanchez also failed to show good behavior while incarcerated. During a random inspection in 2010, jail officers seized a kilo of shabu worth P1.5 million concealed in one of the Blessed Virgin Mary statues inside the former mayor's cell at the New Bilibid Prison. - ISMAEL AMIGO

DOJ to hear the complaint vs VP Leni Robredo, et al. over ‘Bikoy’ videos

The Department of Justice (DOJ) will form a prosecution panel to handle the criminal complaints filed by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) represented by Police Lt. Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay in connection with the revelations made by Peter Joemel Advincula alias “Bikoy”.

In a statement Thursday, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the DOJ “will form a panel of state prosecutors to hear the complaint and conduct the requisite preliminary investigation” on charges of sedition, inciting to sedition, cyber libel, libel, estafa, harboring a criminal/obstruction of justice against at least 37 individuals including Vice President Leni Robredo.

Aside from Robredo, also named in the CIDG complaint were former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV; Jonnell P. Sangalang, Eduardo Acierto; Senators Ana Theresia N. Hontiveros-Baraquel and Leila de Lima, former IBP president Abdiel Fajardo, incumbent IBP president Egon Cayosa, former Supreme Court spokesman Theodore Te, lawyers Minerva Ambrosio, Serafin Salvador and Philip Sawali.

Also named were senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc-Tomawis, Paolo Benigno A. Aquino, Atty. Lorenzo “Erin” R. TaƱada III, Gary Alejano, Florin Hilbay, Romulo Macalintal and Jose Manuel Diokno.

Likewise charged were Yolando Villanueva Ong, Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, Fr. Albert E. Alejo, Fr. Robert Reyes, Bro. Armin A. Alejo, Cubao Diocese Bishop Honesto F. Romano III, Danilo Songco, film actor and activist Joel Saracho.

by

And to sow confusion and fear among the people.

“That shows how stupid the police are, madali silang lokohin,” pahayag ni Bacani sa panayam ng church-run Radio Veritas.

Robert Reyes, Fr. Albert Alejo at Fr. Flaviano Villanueva.

“The witness is completely unbelievable, it could be stupid for them and they looks  stupid before the world  if they file the charges based on the comment of that person because he is completely untrustworthy,” ani Bacani.

Department of OFW bill, ipupursigeng ipasa sa Disyembre – Senator Go

by
Department of OFW bill, ipupursigeng ipasa sa Disyembre – Senator Go

Go.

by

“This will be our focus since what we have seen in the past is that despite the Oplan Tokhang and Oplan Double Barrel, there are still people who are engaged in peddling illegal drugs,” pahayag ni Banac sa isang panayam sa radio.

“We really have to focus on the supply side because despite our aggressive campaign, there is still plenty of supply of illegal drugs. So what we have to stop is the network of the supply of illegal drugs,” dagdag nito.

“So what we would focus on is the source of the illegal drugs so that we could stop the distribution of illegal drugs at the street level,” pahayag pa ni Banac.

“I have no other campaign promise or platform when I run for Senator except for death penalty for drug trafficking. I have to do that. The people voted for me and I won with that platform,” saad ni dela Rosa sa mga reporter sa Camp Crame.

“Not for all crimes. As I have said, small-time drug peddlers, pushers or users won’t be included. My version of death penalty is for drug trafficking, those who flood the country with illegal drugs. There should be a ceiling. For example, if you are caught in possession of at least 1 kilo of shabu, you are classified as drug trafficker. It can be like that,” paliwanag pa ni dela Rosa.

READ: Ang Totoong Nangyari Bago Mamatay Si Jessie Robredo na Matagal ng Itinago!

by
READ: Ang Totoong Nangyari Bago Mamatay Si Jessie Robredo na Matagal ng Itinago!

Former DILG Sec. Jesse Robredo was certainly the best of the Aquino appointees. He was honest and courageous.

Before he died in a fatal plane crash, he was investigating druglords and their connection to the PNP. He discovered the links to some generals, notably two who have been name publicly among 5 by President Duterte. Jess kept the files and to avoid them being stolen, most likely kept them at his condo.

Jess informed President Aquino of his investigations. The problem was it was not only the druglords who had links to some PNP generals but as Jess dug deeper found they had links to Palace officials.

So when Aquino was told of the fatal plane crash, he instructed Rico Puno, Usec at DILG, to rush to the Robredo condo to look for the files and dispose of them because they contained incriminating evidence against two Cabinet members.

If you review the report of the plane crash, there are inconsistencies in the declarations of the lone survivor which indicates the report could have been doctored. No autopsy was carried out on the body of Jess Rodredo.

Why? Nobody knows.

Wat it to hide foul play?

It is no secret that Aquino and Robredo had sharp differences.

The president most likely asked Jess to go slow on his investigation but Jess was not the kind of man who could be dissuaded from doing his duty. Then there was no thorough investigation on what really caused the plane to crush.

The Palace did not appear to go any further other than to bury Jess as a hero to dispel questions regarding the place crash. With Jess buried, the investigations were shelved.

Neither Mar Roxas as DILG secretary nor Leila de Lima as DOJ secretary go further. They knew the extent of the illegal drug trade. Marcelo Garbo was a close lieutenant to Roxas. He openly supported his presidential campaign. He was in charge of the black ops against Duterte.

The other generals named by Duterte were also sympathetic to Roxas. Not surprising because they belonged to the same graduating class. Leila de Lima turned a blindeye to the ongoings of incarcerated druglords in Bilibid who continued operating their shabu business from within their luxury accommodations built with the knowledge of the DOJ secretary.

Today she reportedly opposes their transfer elsewhere. Why?
She and Roxas have a lot of explaining to do.

The growth of the distribution network of illegal drugs that now encompasses most barangays in the country could not have happened without the connivance of key PNP and government officials.
It has become a 450-billion peso annual trade.

So vast it impaired six million of our youth physically and mentally.
So vast it has drawn as protectors at least 34 mayors, some governors and some congressmen who are presently being investigated.

So powerful druglords are willing to offer up to one billion pesos to kill President Duterte.

The only way to eradicate this evil is to terminate druglords and their associates if they don't surrender. Mexico terminated 500 in the first year of its war against drug cartels.
Some 100 here at home have reportedly been killed that is now leading to mass surrender of pushers and addicts, the latest 4,000 of them in Davao del Norte.

Others are rushing to surrender in other provinces. Their distribution network is breaking up. With no distribution network, the shabu supply will dry up.

The next step is to terminate the national and local officials protecting them if they don't surrender voluntarily. Kill a few dozen more and in less than six months the drug problem can be brought to a manageable proportion. Ignore the critics.

As lee Kuan Yew pointed out, the security and well-being of law-abiding citizens is more important that the rights of criminals.
Those who defend the latter are either coddlers or in the pay of drug syndicates.

“When a recruit takes his oath as a professional police officer, he automatically loses or waives some of his rights in favor of organizational discipline, duties and responsibilities. So, being scolded, reprimanded, bawled out, or dressed down for misdemeanor, misconduct or commission of crime is just part and parcel of his life being in the uniformed service,” ani Albayalde.

“This is a stern warning to all PNP personnel. We will be adding more teeth to our campaign against those rogues and scalawags among our ranks. We will not hesitate to relieve any official from their posts should any incident like this extortion and robbery case would happen again,” dagdag pa nito.

Good News: 5.5 Billion Pesos bridge project, to rise in Boracay

Good News: 5.5 Billion Pesos bridge project, to rise in Boracay

The Public Works Department expects to  grant “soon” the  original proponent status to San Miguel Corp. for its proposal to build a 1.2-kilometer bridge from Caticlan to Boracay Island for P5.5 billion.

“We’re still finalizing the OPS. We are still processing it. We can expect the OPS definitely soon,” Public Works Secretary Mark Villar said over the weekend.

Villar said that once the OPS was issued, the agency would submit the proposal to the National Economic and Development Authority for final approval.

The project is a 1.2-kilometer limited-access bridge infrastructure between Boracay Island and Caticlan in Malay, Aklan in the main island of Panay.

The bridge is not envisioned to cater to vehicular through-traffic, so as not to congest the island.  It will be provided with loading/unloading areas on both ends to process the movement of commuters, solid waste, goods and supplies.

San Miguel currently operates the Boracay Airport in Caticlan and is upgrading the airstrip into a world-class airport.

San Miguel president Ramon Ang said building the Caticlan-Boracay bridge would be a novel approach to resolve Boracay’s environmental woes and bring about growth to other areas in Aklan.

The bridge, he said, would reduce the need for tourists and tourism workers to stay on the island.

“Tourists and visitors will have the option to go to Boracay during the day and in the afternoon or at night for accommodations outside the island,” Ang said.

The accessibility of Boracay, through the proposed bridge, would enable developers to build hotels and resorts outside the island. These can be premiere destinations in their own right, as these areas also boast of beautiful beaches and coastlines, he said.

New establishments can be positioned as alternative or more affordable accommodations for tourists, Ang said. He said accommodations for workers could also be built.

Ang said with the new bridge, thousands of tourism workers from neighboring provinces would no longer need to reside in Boracay and contribute to the island’s population growth and, as a result, its waste.

After the success of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) extension project to the the newly paved Laguna Lake Highway in Taguig by additional 1.3 kilometres, the first highway in the Philippines that Duterte Administration opened, and the grand opening of the Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road which is said to be 20 years in the making, since 1997, this time, the DPWH proposed a new project that links Mindoro Island to the Province of Batangas through a world-class super bridge called “Batangas-Mindoro Bridge”.

It can also help agriculture and ecotourism grow and a great opportunity for expansion and optimization of basic industries or utilities like water, power, oil, and telecommunication companies.
