Employer in Saudi Arabia Lets OFW Sleep On Rooftop Under The Heat Of The Sun

Filipino workers, especially those who are working as domestic helpers. News is all over the web are living testimonies of how difficult it is to be away from your family in the Philippines and work for a foreign employer who can be heartless at times.

This Overseas Filipino Worker in Saudi Arabia had to experience sleeping in the rooftop because her employers are heartless enough to let her stay in one of their rooms inside their house.

In a post which was posted in a Facebook Page created to help Overseas Filipino Workers, a woman can be seen lying in an open area that looks like a rooftop, that she is unhappy and could be suffering from the hot weather in Saudi that could spike up for as high as 50 degrees.

Thankfully, the post went viral that it concerned her employers. Afraid that they could be punished for the harsh treatment of the OFW, they gave her a proper room to rest, something that they should have done in the first place.

The number of Overseas Filipino Workers being treated unfairly in Saudi Arabia is continuously rising. The side of the Philippine Embassy regarding this issue was not heard.

WATCH: OFW From Saudi Arabia Losses Her Mind, Found Roaming Inside NAIA Terminal 2

An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) was found roaming around Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 and it is believed that she was mentally disabled.

Roldan Alpon, husband of the OFW in NAIA, went to the TV show Raffy Tulfo in Action to seek help regarding her wife whom he thought is already in the Philippines but couldn’t go home because she lost her sanity.

According to him, somebody texted them saying that they saw his wife, Eva, in NAIA Terminal 2. Immediately, they went there to fetch his wife.

Eva went to Saudi Arabia to work as a domestic helper. However, they received a call from the agency of Eva saying that they will be sending the woman back to the Philippines because of her condition. When she arrived in the Philippines, they were not informed that she was already back considering the condition that she has. Eva even reached Pasay as she does not know where to go.

Meanwhile, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that the fact that the agency failed to reach the family of Eva is already unacceptable. Additionally, they have the responsibility as to what happened to the OFW and why she ended up losing her mind.

RaffyTulfo thinks that the employer should also be held responsible for the condition of the OFW as well as her counter-agency in Saudi Arabia.

Below is the Full video that went viral before it reached to Mr. Raffy Tulfo
Before the OFW lost her sanity, she sent ‘red-flagged’ messages to her husband saying that they are not going well with her employer and thinks that they will take her life.
The agency also allegedly asked for PhP70,000 but it was not documented and they only exchanged words with Eva’s husband.
The investigation is undergoing as to how Eva ended up in this situation.

OFW Who Jumps Off A Building In Morocco Following An Argument With Employer Is Victim Of Trafficking

In an aim to escape her furious employer, a Filipina domestic helper in Morocco decided to jump from the 3 floor of an apartment building resulting in her demise.

According to the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli Charge d’ Affaires Elmer Cato, the Filipina acquired severe injuries after jumping from the building in Casablance. They allegedly had an altercation with her employer.

Cato added that the 49-year-old OFW tried to escape her employer through the use of pieces of garments that she tied together. The local authorities in Morocco took the OFW’s employer as the investigation takes place.

Members of the Consulate was already sent to coordinate with local authorities and prepare the repatriation of the victim’s remains. Cato said that two members of the consular, Arcel Donato and LacsonCasim, already went to Casablanca.

Additionally, Cato claims that the household worker “was recruited in the Philippines for a job in Dubai but ended up in Morocco instead.”

“@PhinLibya has conveyed its condolences to the loved ones of our 49-year-old kababayan from Isabela who fell to her death in Casablanca. A human trafficking victim, she was recruited in the Philippines for a job in Dubai but ended up in Morocco instead. @teddyboylocsin @DFAPHL” Cato wrote on Twitter last June 25, 2019.

The Filipina domestic helper is a mother of two and hails from Isabela. The identity of the woman was hidden as per the likes of her family.
